We had a fantastic meeting on Tuesday, March 6th, in the Rosa Parks cafeteria!
Nomination form for 2018-19 PTCC Board will be sent out this week. Nominations are due March 26. Ed Castellanos is leading the nomination committee.
The auction is March 10th! Childcare is sold out. As of 3/7, 150 tickets have been sold. We have enough volunteers to set up, but we need more for clean up. Pre-bid form for teacher experiences will be sent out this week.
Cherry Blossom Festival is coming in April. If you can help coordinate please email Michi Toki at firstname.lastname@example.org. Popcorn will be popped on April 7th, 14th and 15th. Booth sales will be the weekends of April 14-15 and 21-22 and the parade will be on Sunday April 22nd. PTA parking lot fundraiser will be 4/15, 15 and 21.
Teacher report: RP is getting a new ½ time Special Ed teacher. PTCC will be offering $150 for expenses. Sensei report: Seiko Gakuen host families still needed!!!
Advisory Committee: They have asked for information regarding this year’s enrollment and the set aside. No response yet from the district. Public Education Enrichment Fund’s budget is being voted on 3/13. This is where the bulk of the sensei funding comes from. We do not have reason to believe any changes are being made, but we are wondering why they didn’t let us know about the budget. The SF Board of Supervisors is setting cultural heritage districts. We are trying to get the city to conform to the Japantown area as determined by JCHESS which includes Rosa Parks ES, an historic site.
